1. Introduction to CP flame retardant:

CP is the abbreviation of PYROVATEX, Huntsman’s brand Pyrovatex CP New, a pure cotton flame-retardant treatment technology, is a patent of Ciba Fine Chemicals (Ciba) of Switzerland. The principle is to use Pyrovatex CP New's patented flame-retardant chemical additives and its process technology to treat cotton fiber fabrics, which greatly shortens the time of continuous combustion and smoldering, and quickly self-extinguishes, and has flame-retardant properties. The fabric treated with Pyrovatex CP New flame-retardant treatment technology has good washing resistance. Generally speaking, the flame-retardant index is still within the standard required value after washing 50 times. Huntsman, the company that makes PYROVATEX, claims that it has been used to process more than 100 million square meters of fabric since its inception in the 1960s.

2. Advantages of CP flame retardant:

①The best balance of outstanding durable flame-retardant finishing effect and strength, can reach 20 times, 50 times washing effect.

②Simple process route, ordinary continuous dyeing machine can be used for flame retardant finishing.

③Low free and released formaldehyde content, the free formaldehyde of the fabric after finishing is less than 75ppm, which can meet the current environmental protection requirements, such as Oeko-Tex standard 100 II.

④It feels soft and comfortable to wear.

⑤CP flame retardant has little effect on color fastness.

3, the disadvantages of CP flame retardant:

① Strong damage (15-20%)

② Formaldehyde is released during the production of CP flame retardant.

③The flame retardant effect is not as good as that of pullulene, and the carbon length is within 150mm.

④C Only cotton fabrics can be used as CP flame retardant.

4. Matters needing attention in the production of CP flame retardant:

① Semi-finished products (hair effect): completely remove fabric impurities, such as slurry, floating color, silicon-containing substances and other components that affect the flame retardant effect; and keep the pH value of the fabric surface at medium to slightly acidic. Finished semi-finished products must have good permeability to ensure uniform and rapid penetration of liquid in the left, middle and right of the fabric.

② Shade: full-process proofing, taking into account the degree of discoloration after flame-retardant finishing.

③Auxiliary: strictly follow the aforementioned chemical order.

④Liquid rate: to ensure the full penetration of the working fluid, there must be as long as possible between rolling and drying.

⑤Processing process: The various processes of flame retardant finishing should be closely connected, especially after baking, it should be washed in time to avoid unnecessary power loss and color change.

⑥Ventilation device: ensure good ventilation device for drying and baking equipment.

⑦ Equipment cleaning: In order to ensure the smooth production of fabrics and reduce contamination, regular equipment cleaning is very necessary.

⑧ Finished fabric: After finishing, the pH value of the fabric surface should be neutral and alkaline, and the flame retardant effect and fabric strength should be tested in time.
